Residents of Paa-ko live where they play. Active families
have easy access to golf, tennis, soccer and softball, swimming,
horseback riding and other popular activities.
The Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club is home to a 27-hole
privately owned public golf course that is situated on the east side of
the Sandia Mountains near Albuquerque, New Mexico, at elevations
ranging from 6,500 to 7,000 feet.
Native vegetation creates a rich playing environment.
Surrounded by the mountainous terrain and
vegetation of the New Mexican high desert, the golf course plays
to landing areas and greens separated by arroyos, native
vegetation, and rock outcroppings. Its natural setting has
created little disturbance to the indigent vegetation and the
eco-friendly course uses treated wastewater to keep the fairways
looking perfect.
The par-4 No. 7 Hole is featured on the GolfCourseHome Dream
18, 2008.
Each hole in the upscale course has five
sets of tees allowing play from 5,702 to 7,562 yards, and many
of the holes play downhill through ponderosa, pinon and juniper.
This is one of the most award-winning public-access golf courses
ever to open in the U.S. Five sets of tees are available for all
levels of skill.
Golf is just the beginning of the many activities you can
pursue.
New Community Center
Paa-Ko Communities recently debuted its new Vista Grande
Community Center, a combination county community center and performing
arts center. The handsome complex features a classic
desert-stone façade and its grounds are outfitted with new
athletic fields.
Over time, Vista Grande will become a
full-spectrum sporting complex, with an indoor pool, tennis
courts and a large gymnasium (now under construction). There will be additional cultural
facilities added as well.
